Description
What is the Onconext Risk genetic test?
A series of genetic tests for the study of the predisposition to the development of hereditary mutations. Risk tests are available in a targeted version for different types of tumour, such as:
- Breast
- Ovarian/Uterine
- Colon
- Gastric
- Pancreas
- Melanoma
- Prostate
- Cerebral
- Renal
- Pheochromocytoma/Paraganglioma
- Onconext Screening Complete – includes all of the above
Tests are recommended for clients with a family history of tumours at an early age, multiple tumours in the same client and suspected or proven disposition to hereditary tumours.
ONCONEXT RISK includes tests dedicated to the study of germline mutations, present in all the cells of the individual and transmissible to offspring, which are firmly believed to be involved in hereditary tumour development.
The studied mutations are mutations localized on genes that codify for proteins with the role of tumour suppressors (negative control of cell proliferation, DNA repairing and apoptosis regulation) and that limit their biological function.
Carriers of these mutations have higher predisposition of developing tumour pathologies.

The blood sample will need to be collected by your Midwife, GP or Private Phlebotomy Service – there may be a small charge for this service.
