Private DNA & Health Testing Made Simple
Since 2019, My DNA Lab has helped customers access specialist DNA and health tests that have often been available only through traditional healthcare pathways. We bring these tests together online and explain what each one is designed to examine, so you can understand your options before placing an order.
Over the years, we’ve continued to look for tests that are relevant to people’s health and wellbeing. That doesn’t mean adding options simply to make the range bigger. We focus on tests with a clear purpose and don’t encourage routine monthly testing for its own sake.
Working with specialist laboratories
To make this range available, we work with laboratory partners across the UK, Europe and the USA. We act as a link between those laboratories and customers ordering privately: helping you understand the test, arrange the required sample and receive the resulting laboratory report.
We know that choosing a test also means trusting others with sensitive information. That’s why the laboratory provider is identified in the product information, and relevant details are shared with the laboratory and other service providers only as needed to process your order and report the result. From your order to your results
Once you’ve chosen a test, its product page explains which samples are needed and how to provide them. Some can be collected at home using a Buccal Cheek Swab, while blood samples must be taken by a qualified Healthcare Professional. If you need a blood sample, you can arrange a local phlebotomist or choose our mobile phlebotomy service across mainland UK for an additional fee.
From there, we explain how to return your sample and when to expect your report. The laboratory turnaround begins when a suitable sample has been received, and once your results are ready, we’ll contact you to discuss them before providing your comprehensive laboratory report.
The information in your report can help you have a more informed conversation with your Healthcare Professional about any appropriate next steps. We always recommend discussing your results with them, particularly if you have symptoms or questions about your care.
