What is the Baby Next Standard test?

Baby Next is a genetic test that screens babies for a number of serious inherited genetic disorders that can appear soon after birth or later in childhood.

Baby Next is a genetic test that screens babies for a number of serious inherited genetic disorders that can appear soon after birth or later in childhood.

• The most extensive newborn screening
• Screens for the 34 conditions on the RUSP as well as more than 200 additional conditions that can benefit from early detection
• Able to screen for a wider range of conditions than current biochemical newborn screening

Baby Next screens for conditions that can be treated with medications, dietary modifications, or other therapies. Early screening with Baby Next test can help parents and paediatricians to know whether to take proactive steps sooner, to care for baby’s health.

Extended Test – £625

Analyses 220 genes for 222 diseases (including 34 conditions of the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel – RUSP)

 

Sample collection options:

One buccal swab from the child (cheek swab) – can be carried out in the comfort of your own home
