ctDNA Cancer Monitoring Tests

After a confirmed cancer diagnosis, your oncology team may sometimes want additional molecular information to consider alongside tissue results, scans, symptoms and treatment history.

Private ctDNA cancer monitoring tests provide a blood-based route for looking at selected tumour-related changes without replacing the clinical evidence already guiding your care.
OncoNext Liquid Monitor offers four continuing panels, including focused 15-gene and broader 50-gene choices together with tumour-related breast and lung panels. Your oncology team must identify the relevant clinical question and select the panel before you order.
Once that decision has been made, we can help you access the test privately and arrange the required blood collection. The report can then form one part of the wider information your oncology team uses when considering your care.

Key information about ctDNA monitoring

Designed for people with a confirmed cancer diagnosis
Your oncologist must lead the test selection and interpretation
Four current panels are available: 15-gene, 50-gene, Breast and Lung
Free pre-test and post-test genetic counselling is available
Your oncology team or another qualified healthcare professional can arrange the blood sample. Where appropriate, you can also use our mobile phlebotomy service within mainland UK.

Choose the panel with your oncology team

Before you order, your oncology team will need to choose the panel according to the diagnosed cancer, the question being asked and the information already available. Although the 50-gene panel is broader than the 15-gene panel, broader does not automatically mean more appropriate for every situation.
For that reason, the panel should be agreed before you order. The summaries below give you a simple overview of the four current choices.
15-gene panel
A focused panel for selected tumour-related changes across 15 genes
50-gene panel
A broader multi-gene option for a wider molecular view
Breast panel
A tumour-related panel focused on selected changes relevant to breast cancer
Lung panel
A tumour-related panel focused on selected changes relevant to lung cancer

How the report supports oncology care

The report adds molecular information about selected tumour-related changes detected in the blood. On its own, that information is only one part of the picture. When your oncology team considers it alongside tissue analysis, pathology, scans, symptoms and treatment history, it becomes more meaningful.

Free genetic counselling is available before and after testing, and we can arrange an introduction for you. This support can help explain the genetic terminology, while your oncology team remains responsible for clinical interpretation and treatment decisions.

We always recommend that results are discussed with your Healthcare Professional.
